District Resource Centre for Panchayat (DRCP)
The District Resource Centre for Panchayat (DRCP) is the District level institution of the RD&PR Capacity Building wing. The primary responsibility of DRCP will be to undertake the capability building of the Panchayat functionaries, and disseminate knowledge about Panchayat Administration and Rural Development schemes among the field staff of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and other line departments across in the District.
Role of DRCPs
The role of DRCPs would include the following:

Preparation of annual district level capacity building plan / calendar for elected representatives and functionaries of Village Panchayats and other RD&PR officials.

Organizing Training Programme for community based organization like SHGs, PLFs etc.

Organizing training programme for other line department officials at field level.

Networking with community level training centres established under Pudhu Vazhvu Project and other Training Institutes funded under various Government programmes to organize training programmes.

Networking with local CBOs/CSOs/NGOs working in panchayat raj and associated fields for training and knowledge dissemination.

Organizing/Coordinating Field Visits, Assist the RIRD&PR in organizing Exposure Visits for the participants
Clientele for DRCP:
The following will be the Clientele
1. Elected Representatives and Functionaries of Village panchayat
2. Field Officials of panchayat Union
3. Technical staff from Road Inspector cadre to Overseers
4. Community Based Organizations/NGOs etc.
5. Selected District level administrative and Technical officials irrespective of cadre to attend special Programme/ Workshop's / Seminars.
Infrastructure in DRCPs
The DRCP should have minimum the following infrastructure:
- Training Halls.
- Library–cum-study room.
- Computer Lab with facilities for internet connection.
- Office accommodation for faculty, other academic and office staff.
